"Father of Stones" Asimov's SF Magazine, Acrylics, 1989

The society in this story believed that they lived on a world-sized sleeping dragon.
So I made alot of the geography in the foreground look like teeth and jaws.
And mountains in the background that could pass for the spikes on a dragon's back.
